Impressions:
I did the front-suspension modifications along with the Rear Suspension work to my car, so it is hard to separate one impression from the next.
For certain, steering feel and response is improved - turn in is quicker, and the feel is outstanding. I described it to a friend of mine as 'telepathic'. It's just must sharper, and there is finally some feel to the steering. With the added caster, the steering has some weight to it, and the car has a much more settled feel. Quantitatively, the offset bushing definitely did its job, Each side gained 1.1* of caster, now at 4.5* total, from my previous alignment. Very cool!
More when I get a chance to autocross and road race it.
Update: 2002.12.17:
I autocrossed the car finally. It was a completely different animal! There was a ton of front-end grip, and the car's dominant behavior was definitely understeer. The car was so different, I left a LOT of time out on course, since I had no idea how to really take advantage of the modifications! For my complete writeup, see the racing section.
Credits/Thanks:
Not much for this one, other than just the bushing VFAQ's that got me started on this project.
