Writeup/Notes:
Today, we ran a slightly modified course from yesterday, backwards.
The Death Slalom (just past the turnaround, today) was widened out a bit, and we could really put the hammer down coming out of it into the big right-angle right-hander that goes onto the concrete.
I had what was apparently a very fast run my first run, although I felt like I overcooked every single corner. My second run, I vowed to look ahead as much as possible, and got the lines really right, but somehow went slower by a tenth. Perhaps I need to somehow combine driving the wheels off it, and the right lines, and that's how folks really go fast?
The day ended pretty anticlimactically. The ABS/TC light issue that I've had some trouble with flared up with a vengeance today. It had clicked on after a run yesterday, but today it went on before my run, and I couldn't get it to go off, so I had to race without ABS...it does not work well in Corvettes, let me tell you. You can see the results of me not having ABS, after having gotten used to it (the GSX did not have ABS) in my last run, where the wheels lock and I straightline when I should have turned.
Somehow, they managed not to mark it as a DNF though? heh. Note the results on the score sheet.
Going to see if I can't get some second-hand Kuhmos and Z06 wheels, and see how I can compare to the rest of the ASP crowd with those. 5th is pretty good on street tires, but I'd like to see if I can't make up the ~3 seconds I need on Kuhmos to be near the top of ASP.
Was able to borrow a wide-angle lens from a friend today, so enjoy the wider perspective.
NEW MODS: (not counting yesterday)
- Z06 Swaybars
- 3.90 Gears
- OMP RS & Speedware seat mount
