Writeup/Notes:

Once again, not exactly a great day for me. After my first run, it was clearly evident the car had a very bad handling problem in left-hand turns. I would get a pattering sound like the shudder tires make when they are undertseering HORRIBLY, and then the rear would break loose, with very little I could do about it. The car felt absolutely awesome in right-handers, however.

The bright spots of the day were small, but there are two. First, were the new front tires - 305/30-18's all around, on new (to me) CCW 18x11.5 wheels. The front grip was MUCH better than before, no understeer to speak of on the car, and turn-in felt lightning quick.

Second, after putting my car back in grid, the Yosts graciously allowed me to drive their Z06 on my final 3 runs. Their car is formerly owned by John Ames, a multi-time national champ. It's extremely well set up, and has some Ankeny valved single adjustble Penske shocks, similar to the doubles I'll be receiving soon. The difference in the car's handling is amazing - since that is now the only difference between their '01 Z06 suspension and my upgraded '97 parts. I can only think that the large 305 fronts coupled with the better shocks is going to be an absolute riot on the autocross course, and should be quite fast as well!

So, if nothing else, I am eager!

Car is back in the shop now to try and figure out what is wrong. Hopefully just a toe issue, but we shall see...
