Writeup/Notes:

OK, lots of great things about this race!

First, the car: first time on the new setup!

As mentioned in past logs, the car was having bad rubbing troubles in the front. So, I moved down to a 285/30-18 in the front - problem solved. The course was very tight, so speeds were kept low. The car felt absolutely great. I ran with a tick more front compression than before, and had more rebound in the rear. The car had no understeer whatsoever, and even seemed to oversteer just a touch. Some more driving and learning will tell if there's a problem that might be fixed by a bit more camber in the rear.

Slaloming felt great - some longer slaloms with easier entries will tell a bit more about how that is working as well. The point is - the only thing I really feel like worrying about for changing at this point is shock settings and alignment. The car worked great overall, so I don't think there are big changes to be made, at least not after these 3 runs.

The result of the new changes and the easier-to-drive car (much less twitchy with the different tire + shock setup, far more controllable) was a 1st place in SM2 - my first 1st in quite some time! Hopefully that will continue this season, but time will only tell...

The other big news is that I finally got Liz to come out and take some runs, and she loved it! Huge grin at the end of the day. You can see from the videos she wasn't shy with the throttle either. She did absolutely awesome for a first time out - knew the course great, had good lines, all-in-all, very cool.

Lots of folks were in evidence taking pictures yesterday, so there are lots of large, hi-res shots of the car to take.

In terms of Lefthand Racing, Mike finished 3rd in Street Mod, behind the charging Supra of Jeff and Evan Brauch. So a LHR 1-2-3 in SM. Lawrence Edwards took 1st in BS with his S2000, and Liz and I won our respective SM2 and SM2L classes. On the whole, an absolutely fantastic day for Lefthand Racing

For the upcoming season opener in April, on the way now are a set of Kooks headers to get the car's horsepower and torque up to the level of a Z06, so I can compare almost identically to a stock Z06 from here on out - no more excuses if I'm not as quick as the SS guys! I'm also considering a nice lightweight battery to drop a few pounds, and least, but not least, it might finally be time to get the hardbar camber mounts for the car, to see if I can get more than ~1.0* of negative camber in the rear.

It's going to be a fun season!!!
