Not a lot to say about this weekend. No video since Liz had the camera for a show jumping event.
I drove absolutely atrociously on Saturday - diving into every corner way too late, and making the car push all the time - yike!
After spending a bit of time thinking about how poorly I'd driven on Saturday night I decided to go back to basics for sunday, and went back to right-foot braking, and did my best to make sure I was braking early, and then accelerating as well as I could through the turns. The result was only a few more points - 929 vs 924, but I felt much better about my driving.
It is clear that the Ecsta V700's aren't much compared to Hoosiers on the concrete at DIA - yikes. Now I know what Jeff meant about them just not having it on grippy concrete - oy.
One fun part of the weekend was the fun runs afterwards. Mike took one run in teh car and was 1.8 (!!) seconds faster than I was, and I took one in Randy's HS mini and was about 0.8s better than his quickest time on two corded tires. I think perhaps the course got quicker later in the day? *grin*
Also notable, if foregone, is that the 8th event gave me the 7th event so that I qualified for season points, meaning that I now officially won the SM2 regional championship, which is a great feeling, even if competition was pretty light. That said, I haven't lost an event all year, so at least the driving hasn't been *so* bad!
