What a Difference a Day Makes

Argh.

Not much else to say after such a frustrating day. On the heels of a great, fun, easy day, a crappy day like this is really a downer.

Rather than the 70* and sunny from Saturday, today started cold, 40's, and overcast. Whatever the difference, it was enough to turn the engine from a fine-running mill to a misfiring, loading-up, hard-to-start lump. Yuck.

As a result, I never really got any clean runs in. The engine never cleaned up until about 1/3 of the way through the runs, kept overheating at the line due to the constant red flags in front of me, and because of the difficulty restarting, we had to take mechanicals twice. What a pain.

Observations, although limited, are basically the same as yesterday. Driving needs some tuning, steady-state understeer, poor bump handling, and maybe a need to raise the car a bit. Still pretty amusing, despite the frustration and anger whenever I actually took my runs.

Points-wise, I still managed to stay in the top third, and over 900 points, with 901. With a clean run, I would have been around 940 or so, near Mike, who was 27th out of the 222 drivers. That's more where I'd like to be. With only 3 events in the car so far, and the noted problems, that is encouraging - I still think that some very high PAX points are in the works.

Back to the drawing board to change some jets, see what I can find out about springs and shock valving, and see if I can come out better next time!
