Warmup
Not a huge amount to say about this event. Looks like I'm still shaking the cobwebs off from winter.
Lots of minor things to check - the brake bias is about where it needs to be, but I'm wondering if something is wrong with them, that I've had to move the bias so far forward on the car.
Dan Goodman codrove with me again, and still called it "the most evil handling car he's ever driven". There seemed to be a general lack of grip overall - the tires didn't generate any heat. Maybe they were just old? Barry's tires sure felt a heckuva lot stickier!
I played with the rear ride height even more, raising it another 4 turns to try and get some corner exit ability. I also added some front preload to see if that would help, but if anything, the car handled bumps worse than before, so it didn't really seem to help.
Of interesting note was taking a closer look at Barry Ott's car, which is VERY soft - one hand you can push it down significantly. He said he's about 60-70% as stiff as the road racing guys, which mirrors what Joe Stimola told me back in teh day. Time to listen to that, I bet, so I'm going to start stepping down some on springrate to see if I can get that low speed grip back.
Pointswise, it was a forgettable day. I coned my best run, and would have had 930 points, but instead, ended up with less than that. Still, 930 isn't too bad.
