:. Racing .:. 2007 Goals

As with 2007, I thought I'd write down what I'm hoping to accomplish in 2008. Note that as in years past, it doesn't really involve much in the way of competitive goals - it's a lot more fun to race without getting hung up on winning too much - which helps with staying within budget limitations!

Goal #1: Work out the 'busa bugs
No doubt, with a new engine, there will be some bugs to work out. Fueling issues, tuning, perhaps other such related bugaboos. Hopefully I can have these sorted before the season starts in earnest. Having spent the money on the conversion, my plan is to race the car for at least the next two years, and then investigate where I might want to be, either by putting a 2008 'busa engine in at that time, moving to an F1000, or some other change.

Goal #2: Finish my National License
I have just one race left to get my national license. Once I have this, I can run at a bit higher level, and see if it's for me. Who knows, maybe even win a tire or two?

Goal #3: Race at at least one more track
I'm hoping to visit at least one additional track this year, and hopefully three - Miller, MAM, HPT, and perhaps Spring Mountain at year's end. Each track is fun to visit, and adding to my experience level is surely helpful.

Goal #4: Do a Radical Cup race
Rather than being the read-headed stepchild of CSR, in the Radical Cup, all of the cars are Radicals of various flavors. If this turns out to be a fun series, with lots of cars to race with, then it means I'll have a place for my car to race for a long time.

Goal #5: Continue Solo
If I can find a solo ride, I'd like to continue solo'ing. What I saw in my first year of road racing is that it really is tremendously good training/practice.

And really...that's it. As always, I'll develop the car and make it faster. All I'm looking for is for me to get better, the car to get better, and to do a lot of racing in as many different places as I can. If I get some good results, then so be it!
